Towards the end of last month, Facebook declared that it now has over four million active advertisers. Around 40% of these brands have created an ad using their mobile devices and around 20% have advertised with a video. This is really impressive due to the fact that earlier in March, it had three million active advertisers.
Blueprint is a mix of online and in-person training — covering elearning, live training classes, webinars and now certification. Facebook has now introduced Blueprint Certification (you can watch the video here) as part of the Blueprint e-learning platform in March, 2015. Since its launch, over one million courses have been enrolled on the platform by digital marketers. Blueprint Certification is the most valuable, advanced and the only reliable yardstick for measuring Facebook advertising competency that is officially acknowledged. Its effect is not limited to Facebook alone as it reaches Messenger and Instagram too.
Basically, it is targeted at training digital advertisers to create effective ad campaigns on the social media marketing platform. At the onset, English was the only available language, but currently, there are 9 languages. It is open to both desktop and mobile users with businesses of all sizes.
In the recent upgrade to the elearning platform, three major additions were made to the Blueprint program: 2 Blueprint Certifications for digital advertisers, a partnership with the Miami Ad School and the inclusion of French and Indonesian on its list of languages.
Facebook Certified Planning Professional and Facebook Certified Buying Professional are the two credentials that can be awarded to participants. The former is awarded to seasoned digital advertisers who have mastered how to plan successful Facebook advertising campaigns while the latter is targeted at professional digital advertisers who are skilled at creating and buying Facebook advertising for maximum campaign impact.
In-person training and online categories like Best Practices, Targeting, Managing Your Ads and Campaign Optimization are inclusive. According to Facebook, interested users are expected to start the program by selecting their preferred certification path. Once this is in place, they are given the opportunity to prepare for and take two secure, proctored exams: a basic Facebook Advertising Core competency exam and another exam in their preferred program. The purpose of these exams is to correctly evaluate advance-level competency in comprehending and applying the skills needed for each job roles.
Participants may decide to take the exam with an online proctor at home or in the office. Those who pass the exam will receive a digital badge that can be shared on Facebook and other social media. It can be included in an email signature or e-résumé and embedded in a blog or a website. Blueprint Certifications are valid for just 12 months, taking a re-certification exam at the end of each certification period will help in maintaining the certification status.
